For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV July took us to Toronto, first to attend a conference, and then to meet with other prison ministries. Over several days, we met with and spoke with five key people in prison ministry. Our plan is to form CLI-Canada by partnering with local volunteers and prison ministries. Canada has about 300 prisons, jails and youth centers. Just like the US, they have numerous half-way houses for newly released prisoners. They also have prisons in French speaking Quebec which will require French materials. We appreciate your prayer for this exciting new ministry for CLI!
The 2008 Author-Dinner We are happy to announce we have landed an outstanding author for our dinner in October. The date is Tuesday, October 21st. Lennie Spitale has dedicated his life to prison ministry, after spending a few years behind bars as a rebellious young man. His book, "Prison Ministry" is a handbook for all prison volunteers. We also plan on having two additional testimonies from former inmates who received Christ in prison. It promises to be our most exciting and heartwarming author dinner ever! We hope you will be joining us and inviting your friends.
